Summary, model-written
Machynys Peninsula (Llanelli, Wales) was an industrial site (tinplate works) that closed in 1961. It was redeveloped per strategy 'redevelop' into entertainment (Machynys Peninsula Golf Club) and housing (Nicklaus Village, 175 homes), with construction completed by 2005. The site is now 'built' and operational. Peer sites include Lower Swansea Valley (17km away, same strategy), Bellerive Country Club (closed 1959), and others with similar redevelopment patterns. No current occupancy or financial data is provided. Unknown: exact redevelopment timeline beyond 2005, current housing occupancy, or visitor numbers for the golf club.
Why. Record explicitly states closure year, redevelopment strategy, new uses, and post-closure developments (golf club/housing). Peer context confirms similar redevelopment pattern. No data on current metrics or timeline details beyond 2005.
Where it stands. Site transitioned from closed industrial to completed mixed-use (entertainment/housing) per record. Peer context shows alignment with known redevelopment models.

Background
Machynys, or Machynys Peninsula is a coastal area just to the south of Llanelli in Carmarthenshire, Wales. In the nineteenth century an industrial community lived here working at the brickworks and tinplate works that occupied the site. When the industrial activity ceased in the mid-twentieth century, the buildings were demolished and the site lay derelict.
