Summary, model-written

CNN Center (Atlanta) is under construction as a mixed-use redevelopment (entertainment, hotel, office, retail), led by CP Group. The site was formerly CNN’s headquarters (relocated in 2020) and is now repurposing the Omni International Complex. Nearby, the Boisfeuillet Jones Civic Center site (1 km away) is also under construction. The project is already active (not a new opportunity), per record: 'under construction, approved, or sold.' Traffic data shows it’s on a 4-lane minor arterial (Martin Luther King Jr Dr) with 16,300 ADT. Housing market data (ZHVI $414k, ZORI $1,926) and county growth (4.6% 2018–23) are noted but not assessed. No parcel or deal details provided beyond the developer.

Why. Record confirms active development, location context, and market data; no gaps in provided facts.

Where it stands. Not a new opportunity; in active development phase with CP Group.

For a planner

  • Downtown location adjacent to Centennial Olympic Park
  • Nearby projects (Boisfeuillet Jones, 1 km) indicate cluster development

For a developer

  • Already under construction (CP Group), not available for new acquisition
  • Mixed-use strategy aligns with nearby projects (e.g., Boisfeuillet Jones)

What we do not know yet

  • No parcel size or deal terms provided
  • No timeline for completion or occupancy

Background

The Center (stylized The CTR), formerly and still commonly called the CNN Center, is the former international headquarters of U.S. cable network CNN in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. The main newsrooms and studios for several of CNN's news channels were located in the building. The facility's commercial office space was occupied by various units of the former Turner Broadcasting System, now part of Skydance Corporation. The Center is located in downtown Atlanta adjacent to Centennial Olympic Park. In 2020, CNN announced that it would relocate its Atlanta operations back to the Turner Broadcasting Techwood campus in Midtown Atlanta.
